Chemical dependence kept me from living a happy life until I found help through drug rehabilitation. My life was changed one night when I overdosed and woke up in the hospital. The doctor told me if I used again I would probably die because my heart couldn’t take it any more. I was scared at that point that I might die because I knew I couldn’t stop on my own so I told my parents that I had a chemical dependence and that I needed help to go into drug rehabilitation. They were surprised that their little girl could even have done such a thing but, they helped me and paid for treatment. It’s been 3 years since I went through treatment and I’m happier than ever!
